As a child growing up in South Korea, I saw a painting my mother created; a bird that was flying towards me. It was then that art inspired me, and I too started drawing and painting. Life was difficult, working to support my family left little time for education. As I progressed, I was able to continue painting and pursue an education in art, receiving a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Washington.
My inspiration comes from nature, love and my background growing up in Seoul, Korea. This is a city and country rich with history and tradition providing me with unlimited inspiration. The history of my life, and the culture within me provides the inspiration and feeling to create my art.
My art reflects the pain, sorrow and happiness of my life and is centered in traditional and modern Korean life and animals important in the culture, nature and love of mother and child. I continue to evolve and grow as an artist, I paint my feelings, my life, my future. I trust you will enjoy my work as much as I enjoyed creating the paintings.
