Since my childhood, as I remember it, I have loved painting, and I still love all forms of art. I have a bachelor’s degree in sculpture and a master’s degree in art therapy. After I became an art therapist, I have focused on listening to other people’s stories rather than painting. But when I immigrated to the U.S., I got married, raised a son, and regained my passion for painting. Painting is the process of telling my story throughout my life. I’m painting animals that are personified in acrylic paint, and I look back on my life mainly through the images of young animals. Also, vintage colors and expressions of wallpaper remind me of my childhood. I’m still looking for a way to tell my stories through various childhood experiences of me and the people around me.
